A Midsummer Night’s Dream

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Directed by Brookelynne Bennington

Presented by Palmdale Repertory Theatre

On a Midsummer’s night, four young lovers find themselves wrapped in the dream-like arms of an enchanted forest where sprites lurk and fairies rule. While a feuding Fairy King and Queen are at war, their paths are crossed by a group of actors putting on a play. Chief mischief-maker Puck is on-hand to ensure that the course of true love is anything but smooth, and games of fantasy, love and dreams ensue in Shakespeare’s most popular comedy.

This isn’t your parent’s Shakespeare – it’s the same dialogue, but set in a different time. I was asked to make a much more edgy sound for this production, including elements of heavy metal and EDM music during certain parts of the production. This was interspersed with traditional orchestral music as well as forest fantasy for the fairies’ lullaby.
